The Hunter Hydrawise Driver for Control4 provides seamless integration between Control4 automation systems and Hunter Hydrawise irrigation controllers. This driver enables homeowners and integrators to monitor and control all irrigation zones linked to a customer’s Hydrawise account directly from within Control4.

Through the integration, users can perform zone-specific and system-wide irrigation commands, including Run, Run All, Stop, Stop All, Suspend, Suspend All, Unsuspend, and Unsuspend All. This allows flexible control over irrigation cycles and convenient manual overrides as needed.

Control and feedback are provided via the Hydrawise Cloud, ensuring secure, reliable communication between Control4 and connected irrigation controllers. This allows users to view zone states and system status from any Control4 interface and incorporate irrigation control into automated programming or environmental scenes.

Why is this product so exciting?

The Hunter Hydrawise integration makes irrigation control within Control4 seamless and intuitive. Each irrigation zone appears as a native Control4 sprinkler device, accessible through all Control4 interfaces. A built-in webview enables T3 and T4 touchscreens to open the Hydrawise web application directly, providing additional control and visibility. Keypad bindings offer simple run and stop functionality with real-time feedback, while full zone management—including Run, Stop, and Suspend commands—is available from any Control4 interface.

What hardware will this work on?

Any considerations in regards to feedback?

Feedback from Hydrawise is polled and rate-limited, with Hunter’s servers permitting updates only once per minute. As a result, it may take up to 60 seconds for refreshed status information to appear in Control4. However, when a command is issued from Control4, the driver receives immediate confirmation from Hydrawise that the command has been successfully executed, ensuring responsive and reliable control despite the polling interval.
